Queens Unlimited

Play Queens unlimited: put one queen in every row, column and colour region, with no two touching, on a 6×6 board on Easy, 8×8 on Medium, 10×10 on Hard, each with exactly one solution and a new one every time you press Next.

How to play Queens

  1. 1

Tap a square once to set a queen gem, and tap the gem to take it off. Drag across empty squares to cross out several at once, or long-press a square (right-click with a mouse) to cross out just that one.

  2. 2

Every row, every column and every colour region holds exactly one queen. Start with the smallest regions.

  3. 3

No two queens may touch, not even corner to corner. A queen fades a cross onto the squares it rules out.

  4. 4

Press Next puzzle for a new board at the same level, or switch to Daily for the board everyone gets today.

Solved Queens Unlimited 8×8 board: one gem-shaped queen in every row, column and colour region, none touching

Queens tips

  • Start with the smallest colour region. A region that is only one or two squares wide leaves you almost no choice, so its queen goes in first and rules out a whole row, a column and the eight squares around it.
  • Look for regions that sit inside a single row or column. If every square of a region lies in one row, that row belongs to the region, so you can cross out the other squares of the row that belong to any other colour.
  • Use the crosses. Tap a square once to mark it, and the board keeps your notes until you are sure. Dragging across a line of squares crosses them all in one move, which is quick on the 10×10 boards.
  • Count before you guess. On a 8×8 board there are exactly 8 queens, one per row, one per column, one per region. When two regions have squares only in the same two rows, those rows are used up and every other region has to look elsewhere.

Queens Unlimited questions

How do you play Queens?

Put one queen in every row, every column and every colour region of the grid, so that no two queens touch, even diagonally. Tap a square to set a queen and tap it again to take it off. Drag across squares, long-press one or right-click it to cross squares out. The board is solved when every row has its queen (6, 8 or 10 of them, depending on the level) and no rule is broken.

Is there an unlimited Queens where I can keep going after the daily one?

Yes. Press Next puzzle for a fresh board at the same level as often as you like. Every board has exactly one solution, and there is no sign-up and no daily limit.

Is this LinkedIn Queens or a different site?

A different site. The Dles is an independent site. We wrote this version ourselves and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn.

Can queens touch each other diagonally in this version?

No. Two queens may never touch, and that includes corner-to-corner neighbours. After you set a queen, the squares it rules out (its row, its column and the eight squares around it) show a faint cross.

When did Queens launch and who made it?

LinkedIn launched Queens in May 2024, as TechRadar and Tom’s Guide reported when it introduced its first in-app puzzle games.

Can I play LinkedIn Queens more than once a day?

On LinkedIn each of its games gives you one puzzle a day, as TechRadar and Tom’s Guide describe it. That limit is LinkedIn’s own and does not apply here: press Next puzzle for another board whenever you like.

What do I do if I get stuck on a Queens board?

Press Hint for one step at a time: it takes back a queen that does not belong, or sets a missing one. After three hints a Show answer button appears. A board where you showed the answer does not count toward your streak or best time.
